The Threshold House acts as a frame that directly engages the site and the panoramic mountain view. The landscape appears to flow in, through, and back out of the home around the slate walls that take on the role of boulders in a stream; impacting the flow of nature but not to stop it, simply to add to its awe. Floor level changes reflect the natural contour of the site further integrating the built and the natural. Transparency within the home’s core creates opportunities for connection to the landscape in every direction that are simultaneously routine and awe inspiring.
